The Honda CBR500R gets updated for 2022

The suspension system is revised for sharper handling

Coming on the heels of the recently updated CB500X, Honda has just announced the 2022 CBR500R sport bike with an updated suspension and dashboard.

It has quite a large plate holder. PHOTOS FROM HONDA

The front end now uses an inverted 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston for enhanced control, while a “negative-display” LCD panel shows dual trip meters, fuel level and consumption, gear position, and shift-up indicator. Lighting is LED all around.

The engine is still the Euro 5-compliant, 471cc parallel-twin rated at 47hp and 43.2Nm. Claimed fuel efficiency is 28.6km/L.

The big news is a sexier inverted fork. PHOTOS FROM HONDA

The CBR500R is priced at P364,000. It comes in Grand Prix Red or Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and is available at all Honda Big Bike dealerships nationwide. With this popular segment dominated by the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and the KTM RC 390, it will be interesting to see how the Honda will be received by the riding public.
