Besides the Stinger, Kia is launching the all-new Forte at MIAS

This should make the Korean automaker’s booth quite popular

You may have read our recent article saying Kia Philippines is displaying the Stinger at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show (which will run from April 4 to 7 at World Trade Center in Pasay City). In that story, we shared how company president Manny Aligada teased us with a “second box” of surprise besides the Stinger. Our guess was the Stonic crossover.

Turns out we were wrong. Yes, the Stinger will be the main show vehicle at Kia’s booth, but the second one won’t be the Stonic, according to a source familiar with the brand’s MIAS lineup. The second highlight will be the all-new, third-generation Forte compact sedan, which the Korean automaker first presented to the world at the 2018 North American International Auto Show.

Now, this indeed is a surprise. Even the Kia dealer principal who tipped us off on the Soluto’s arrival back in January is unaware of this development. That’s “super secret,” he says.

Per our source, the Forte to be displayed will have a white paint job. In fact, our informant added, all Kia vehicles at this year’s MIAS will have white exterior colors—except for the Stinger, which will be in red. Also, the occasion will serve as the formal Philippine market launch for both the Forte and the Stinger, with Kia Philippines set to announce its final pricing for the pair at the show.

So, if you’re interested in either one or both of these cars, be sure to drop by MIAS 2019 and visit the Kia booth. The above-mentioned show-stoppers are worth the trip (and the admission fee).
