When we drove the small but capable Chevrolet Spark two years ago, we were pretty impressed. It had a lively 1.4-liter gasoline engine, it moved extremely well, it felt well-built, and it boasted thoughtful features. It just had one issue: It was a bit inaccessible at P859,888 (top variant). For that price, we’d rather add more cash and get the manual-transmission Suzuki Jimny instead.
But Chevrolet Philippines now has a new Spark to tempt small-car buyers with. Not only does the car wear a redesigned face, the above-mentioned range-topper Premier CVT variant now also costs significantly less at P734,888. That’s right: This zippy runabout is substantially cheaper by P125,000.
We suggest you personally test-drive the Spark. You can’t possibly know how much fun to drive this baby is until you actually try it. Don’t take our word for it.
