Genesis is a luxury brand that’s worth keeping tabs on, having introduced models that are starting to give its peers from Europe and Japan a run for their money. The automaker has recently started dabbling with such EVs as the electric G80 launched in China. And now, it has a new electric vehicle called the GV60. It is based on the Hyundai E-GMP platform shared with the Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV6.

This crossover has the “Two-Line” light signature up front and at the back. The grille is moved lower to make way for a clamshell-style hood (like the Ioniq 5) and doesn’t appear to be as prominent as those of its siblings. Genesis usually has lovely designs, but the combination of the GV60’s proportions and front fascia reminds us of Smudge the Cat. But hey, props to the designers for adding a little diversity to the automaker’s lineup especially with the car’s bright lime-green color.

The interior has a more unique and upscale ambience with its blue-and-lime-green upholstery, as well as premium materials. There’s a “floating” center console, screens for the rear-facing cameras, and the “Crystal Sphere” (which is what you use to switch between the various drive modes).

More details about the powertrain and the pricing will be announced in the coming months. Deliveries for North American customers will commence in 2022.
