Without a doubt, Mazda has captured the hearts of automotive enthusiasts and those who consider driving a reward and not a chore. This was the evident vibe at Mazda Philippines’ recent media night held at The Island in Bonifacio Global City, where the brand’s 2019 models were previewed.

With a laid-back beach dress code, Mazda Philippines president and CEO Steven Tan looked like a chill Hawaiian tourist. He unveiled an attractive trio of 2019 models: the CX-9 AWD with nappa leather, the face-lifted 6 2.2L Skyactiv-D and the MX-5 RF Club Edition.

A program dedicated to the various Mazda car clubs was one of the highlights of the event. Representatives from Mazda 2ners, Club Mazda Ph, CX-5 Club Pilipinas, Mazda 3 Skyactiv Club Ph, Mazdatech Philippines and Miata Club Philippines talked about their respective activities and accomplishments.

Just to whet your appetite, the heavily refreshed 6 2.2L Skyactiv-D comes with a turbocharged diesel engine that churns out more push and pull than ever: 187hp and 450Nm. The CX-9 AWD is still powered by the impressive 2.5-liter Skyactiv turbo mill, but this time has gorgeous brownish-red leather seats and trim that contrast nicely with the premium materials found inside the plush seven-seat cabin. The MX-5 RF Club, meanwhile, is one seriously sporty-looking package, with a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G engine rated at 181hp and 205Nm. That’s a significant boost of 23hp and 5Nm from the previous figures since the ND’s release.

For more details (like pricing), Mazda Philippines is inviting everyone to check out these cars at the upcoming 2018 Philippine International Motor Show from October 24 to 28 at World Trade Center in Pasay City. Trust us when we say these automobiles are best seen in the metal. Mark your calendar.
