If there is one new vehicle that car buyers are waiting for these days—at least those who can afford it anyway—it’s the new-generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300. In fact, while I was preparing to write this piece, I got a call from an industry friend who asked me if I already knew the Philippine prices of the SUV. What were the chances, right? Well, he was in luck. I did have the pricing of the vehicle as well as its specifications for our market.

If you recall, the Japanese automaker unveiled the new model last month for all the world to see. And if you also recall, we told you back in January that Toyota Motor Philippines was set to release this car in our territory in the third quarter of this year. Indeed, the company is about to launch the all-new Land Cruiser in the country, but the retail sales will begin on October 1—which technically makes it the fourth quarter (in case you’re anal about details).

Our Land Cruiser will be powered by the 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V6 engine (F33A-FTV) rated at 302hp (306ps) and 700Nm. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. There are two variants to be introduced to us: high grade (ZX) and standard grade (VX). The ZX measures 5,130mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,945mm high; the VX measures 5,115mm long and is just as wide and tall.

The ZX has 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/55 rubber, while the VX gets 18-inch alloy rims shod in 265/65 tires.

• Gray Metallic
• Attitude Black Mica
• Precious White Pearl (ZX only)
