The 2022 World Rally Championship is shaping up to be the exciting one with the Rally1 class, which introduces hybrid propulsion into the mix. We know that Toyota will be entering its GR Yaris Rally1, while Ford has its hybrid Puma.

Now, we take a look at the final competitor in this new class, as Hyundai shows off the i20 N Rally1 to the world.

This vehicle is based on the i20 N road car, and it combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a 134hp electric motor and a 3.9kWh battery to deliver around 500hp worth of peak performance when needed.

This year's regulations also require sustainably sourced fuels. PHOTOS FROM HYUNDAI

Piloting these Korean rally cars are Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak. A third i20 N will be shared between Oliver Solberg (son of the legendary Petter Solberg) and Dani Sordo.

You can catch the i20 N Rally1 making its competitive debut at the Monte Carlo Rally on January 20-23. Which team are you rooting for?
