The Toyota C-HR just got more desirable than ever

And we now really wish it were available in our market

Despite its absence in our automotive market, the Toyota C-HR is one of the most desirable small crossovers among Filipinos who know it. While we’re still dreaming about its possible arrival in our territory, our lucky European friends are about to get their hands on a better version.

According to a press statement, the CH-R has been refreshed, and this upgrade will be first made available in the West. Up front, the crossover receives a new headlamp design—combining the LED lights, the daytime running lights and the indicators in one neat package. At the back, a gloss-black spoiler connects the rear combination lamps for a sleeker appearance.

But the biggest update can be found under the hood. There are now two hybrid engine choices. The first is the improved 1.8-liter hybrid system that’s good for 122hp, and then there’s the more powerful 2.0-liter hybrid with 184hp.

The changes don’t end there. You’ll enjoy driving the refreshed C-HR as improvements to the electronic power steering and the suspension system strike the perfect balance between ride comfort and good driving dynamics.

Noise, vibration and harshness levels are now significantly lower, too, so you can enjoy a quieter and more comfortable drive around town. The new multimedia system supports the latest Apple CarPlay and Android Auto versions, and the built-in navigation system is now capable of getting over-the-air updates.

While these changes are more evolutionary than revolutionary, it’s enough to make this well-received crossover even more desirable. Will it forever be just wishful thinking to somehow expect Toyota Motor Philippines to bring in this baby?
