The updated Mitsubishi Mirage G4 is here with a handsome new look

It now gets the Dynamic Shield treatment

Step outside and you’re going to see a Mitsubishi Mirage almost everywhere. It’s one of the brand’s best-selling nameplates, having sold more than 92,000 units since its release in 2012. And it’s also proudly Filipino-made as the car is built in the automaker’s Santa Rosa plant.

To keep things fresh, the G4 sedan now receives a substantial exterior refresh and some interior updates to make the car an even more compelling package for consumers. We’ve seen a glimpse of it in the past. And now, it is hitting Philippine showrooms.

First, let’s talk about the car’s new looks. The front fascia now carries the Dynamic Shield design language (which Mitsubishi loves putting on almost everything). While the outgoing G4 was a fairly decent-looking car, the updated one definitely looks sportier and more handsome. There are bits of the Lancer Evolution thrown in when you stare at the new headlamps and fog lamps, the 15-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, and the rear-bumper design with reflectors and an integrated diffuser.

The spacious interior receives some updates like a new fabric-seat design, higher-contrast gauges, and a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get a spacious 450L boot and the same fuel-efficient 1.2-liter MIVEC three-banger that is good for 77hp and 100Nm. Transmission choices are a CVT and a five-speed manual gearbox.

Safety-wise, the Mirage G4 comes with dual airbags and Isofix child-seat anchors. The range-topping GLS CVT has ABS, EBD, a reversing camera, and fog lamps as standard equipment. Four colors are available: Cool Silver Metallic, Titanium Gray Metallic, Red Metallic, and White Solid. The last two paint jobs are exclusive to CVT variants, and White Solid is available on a per-order basis (waiting time is approximately three months).

Prices for the new Mirage G4 are as follows:

  • GLS CVT – P899,000
  • GLX CVT – P819,000
  • GLX MT – P769,000

There is a special introductory promo in which you can get two years of periodic maintenance and interior sanitation services for free. This offer runs until November 30, 2021. Are you excited about the refreshed Mirage G4, or are you waiting for the hatchback to get the same treatment?
