If you happen to own a 2018-2019 model of the following Honda vehicles, you need to check it for a possible defect in its fuel pump:
- Accord
- BR-V
- City
- Civic
- CR-V
- HR-V
- Jazz
- Mobilio
According to Honda Cars Philippines, the safety recall has to do with “defective impellers.” The recall affects a total of 10,136 vehicles.
“The initiative aims to ensure customer safety and address fuel pump-related concerns such as the inability to start up or [the tendency] to become inoperative,” the company’s press statement said.
Honda will begin replacing the fuel pump kits beginning July 2020. The work is to be carried out by any of the 34 authorized Honda dealerships nationwide. The job is estimated to take about 1.5 hours. As with other safety recalls, parts and labor are absolutely free of charge.
Notification letters will be sent to the owners of the affected vehicles. But just to see for yourself if your car is included in this recall, you may verify its 17-digit chassis number (aka vehicle identification number) via the VIN search tool at hondaphil.com/recall.
Once you’re sure that your Honda vehicle is part of this recall, you can proceed and schedule a service appointment with your dealership. Just call 1-800-1000-HONDA (46632) or (02) 8857-7240 between 8am and 5pm, Mondays to Fridays.
Prioritize this for safety’s sake, guys. Go check your Honda cars.
