For some years now, Mazda Philippines has made Father’s Day weekend extra special by luring dads, their families and anyone who loves cars (or is shopping for one) to its annual “Zoom Fest” event. It has become a local Mazda tradition that connects the brand to its growing number of followers, showcasing new offerings, promotions and activities that deliver zoom-zoom thrills.

This time around—from June 15 to 17—Mazda Philippines has prepared another memorable weekend for customers who wish to get their hands on new 2018 offerings. These include the new CX-9 midsize SUV; two new versions of the subcompact 2 (Katana and Java Premium Series editions); and a new iteration of the popular MX-5 roadster with a distinct Dark Cherry soft top. Best of all, due to the insistent demand of driving purists, the MX-5 RF (retractable fastback) is finally being offered locally with a six-speed manual transmission, and a unit will also be displayed at the event.

Those interested in the CX-9, by the way, might want to know its introductory prices: P2,350,000 for the FWD Sport Touring and P2,830,000 for the AWD Grand Touring.

To help visitors appreciate Mazda’s dynamic engineering and design language, brand masters will be sharing their insights on what makes each vehicle fun and engaging to drive. Revolving around Mazda’s concept of jinba ittai (horse and rider as one), the lectures should enable participants to learn more from the experts and gain a deeper understanding of the connection between the driver and Mazda’s stunning machines.

Obviously, there are desirable perks awaiting buyers. Those who will place a minimum reservation fee of P5,000 for a vehicle will get a chance to win some cool raffle prizes, including unique merchandise from Mazda’s 2018 lifestyle collection. Also at stake are Shell fuel vouchers and additional discount vouchers worth anything from P10,000 to P100,000. The cash vouchers may be used for any Mazda car purchase until July 31, 2018.

Whether you’re scouting for a new ride or just looking for a fun way to spend Father’s Day weekend, this three-day event is a great way to show your appreciation for your old man while also experiencing a premium Japanese car brand. Be sure to mark your calendar.

The 2018 Zoom Fest will be held at the Big Bear activity area of Bonifacio High Street in Bonifacio Global City. Admission is absolutely free, so bring whoever you want to bring—father or not.

UPDATE: Mazda Philippines has canceled the event due to the prevailing bad weather. The following notice has been sent by the company: “We wish to inform you that Zoom Fest, which was originally scheduled for Father’s Day weekend (June 15 to 17, 2018), is canceled due to inclement weather. The safety of our customers, fans and friends is our utmost priority. We intend to reschedule the event for another time when they can value the Zoom Fest experience the most. Please wait for further announcement concerning the new date for this event.”
