So the Takata airbag debacle continues to cast a shadow on the affairs of the automakers involved. Honda Cars Philippines announced a recall in December to address the issue. And now it’s Nissan Philippines’ turn to ensure the safety of its customers.

The local distributor of the Japanese brand has communicated a “global service campaign” that seeks to replace defective airbags on certain models. If your Nissan car is included in the recall, its airbags will be replaced at your Nissan dealership of choice free of charge.

Here is the list of the affected Nissan models:

  • Frontier – 2003 to 2008
  • Grand Livina – 2008 to 2014
  • Navara – 2007 to 2014
  • Patrol Super Safari – 2003 to 2012
  • Teana – 2006 to 2007
  • X-Trail – 2003 to 2012

If you believe your car is part of the recall, go to the service campaign’s dedicated page and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (or chassis number) to verify if your vehicle’s airbags need to be replaced. If the result is positive, call Nissan Philippines’ 24/7 customer assistance hotline at (02) 403-65-93 or (0927) 600-9557 to know how to proceed to the next step. Or you may simply visit your Nissan dealer.

Don’t procrastinate. A faulty airbag could result in serious (even fatal) injuries.
