The guy you see above is stand-up comedian Alex Calleja. We saw him perform for the first time in January this year, during Nissan Philippines’ thanksgiving party for the media. Super funny, we admit. We laughed so hard we even shared a snippet of his monologue on our Facebook page.
Anyway, he’s here on our website because he posted something on Instagram that had us in stitches once again. You see, the humorist received a safety recall notice from Ford Philippines, dated August 29, 2019. Said notice was supposedly for an airbag defect in his Ranger/Everest. There was just one small problem: He doesn’t own either a Ranger or an Everest.
Here’s what he wrote in the caption:
Ford Philippines replied: “Hi, Alex. Thanks for letting us know about this. We’ve sent you a DM.”
Well, to be fair to the American automaker, at least we know it does reach out to customers for recall issues. Surely, that’s not a bad thing, right? Then again, if you don’t own one of its vehicles, it can be pretty hilarious—as Alex has shown us.
We have a feeling we’ll witness Mr. Calleja perform at an upcoming Ford event. Perhaps at the next Henry Ford Awards?
