Look at these rainbow-colored crosswalks in Araneta Center

In celebration of the LGBT community’s Pride Month

Looks like a really happy place, doesn’t it? PHOTO FROM ARANETA CENTER

Apparently, June is the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community’s Pride Month, a time when members of this demographic promote their rights and call attention to issues that are important to them. As the LGBT lifestyle becomes more mainstream, more people, companies and establishments have come out to support it. This group now includes the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.

In a post on its Facebook page yesterday, the commercial district shared photos of rainbow-colored pedestrian crosswalks within its territory in a vivid nod to the Pride Month. “Walk with pride,” the post said. We’re sure both foot travelers and car drivers marvel at the sight. The vibrant-looking pedestrian lanes are extremely Instagram-worthy, so that’s a marketing win for the area.

You think we should do this on more roads? Check out these images.

Can they make these colorful crosswalks permanent? We think they look really nice. PHOTOS FROM ARANETA CENTER
