Toyota Motor Philippines has given its popular compact MPV a welcome cosmetic makeover. At the 15th annual Toyota Road Trek held in Puerto Princesa in Palawan, the Japanese automaker presented the face-lifted Avanza to a group of motoring journalists and excitedly announced that pricing for the top variants would not increase.

New on the Avanza are the face, the split-type LED headlamps, the fin-type antenna, the alloy wheels, the rear design, the center cluster, the meter gauges, the digital climate control, the audio system interface and the power outlet for rear passengers. New for the 1.5-liter variants (G and Veloz) are the side mudguards and the side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

According to TMP, the new Avanza will officially hit Toyota showrooms nationwide on May 14. That’s right after the elections, which is nice because we all need something positive in order to recover from the sordidness of the elections and the pathetic characters we’ve been exposed to in the past few months.
